ALCSI is an all-volunteer organization of 700 students and doctors, working with communities, healthcare providers, health departments, and Congress to increase awareness of and access to lung cancer screening. Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer in the U.S. and the world, and in 2025, it is estimated that more than 124,000 Americans will die from lung cancer. If every high-risk individual were to get screened for lung cancer right now, it is estimated that 30,000-60,000 lives would be saved. However, less than 20% of high-risk individuals are currently getting screened.
