About ALCSI

The American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative is a volunteer-led, nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to saving lives through early detection.

Expanding awareness of and access to lung cancer screening nationwide

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet screening rates remain critically low. ALCSI exists to change that by educating communities, empowering students, partnering with clinicians, and advocating for policy change at every level of government.

We believe that every eligible individual deserves to know about and have access to low-dose CT screening, a proven tool that can detect lung cancer early, when it is most treatable.

ALCSI brings together students and physicians in a nationwide coalition spanning 135+ chapters, over 1,000 members, and partnerships with legislators, physicians, and community leaders across the country.

Students at the Heart

Student leaders work alongside physicians, survivors, and community advocates. Our chapters mobilize campuses and communities to host awareness events, distribute educational materials, and connect people with screening resources.
