Find your next step toward screening

ALCSI’s free eligibility survey helps you understand your screening options. You can ask an ALCSI team member to contact you, or choose to complete it without follow-up.

Who is generally recommended for annual screening?

These three details come from the USPSTF recommendation used by ALCSI’s assessment. Other guidance differs on when to stop screening after quitting.

50–80years old
20+pack-years of smoking history
≤15years since quitting, or currently smoking

A pack-year is one pack a day for one year. The American Cancer Society recommendation does not use years since quitting as a cutoff. A clinician can help you weigh the benefits and possible harms of screening.

Screening criteria shown here come from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendation . They are general guidance, not a personal medical determination.
