About the Innovation Summit
The ALCSI Summit brings together students from across the nation for an enriching 3-day program featuring lectures from leaders in medicine and public health, as well as immersive programming focused on lung cancer screening, community engagement, advocacy, and leadership development.
Students will have opportunities to learn from patients and survivors, physicians, and fellow students! If you have any questions, please email psenthil@mgh.harvard.edu.

Presentations on innovations and community advocacy projects by ALCSI Innovation Challenge Finalists.
Featured Speakers

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci is a physician-scientist and immunologist who served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022. Over his more than 50-year career at the National Institutes of Health, he became one of the world’s leading experts on infectious diseases and public health.
He played a key role in advancing research and response efforts for HIV/AIDS, Ebola, Zika, influenza, and COVID-19. Dr. Fauci currently serves as Distinguished University Professor at Georgetown University.

Dr. Jessica S. Donington is Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Chicago and a nationally recognized leader in thoracic oncology. She serves as Surgical Chair of the NRG Oncology Lung Group and Co-Chair of the National Cancer Institute Thoracic Malignancies Steering Committee.
Dr. Donington is a past president of Women in Thoracic Surgery, the New York Society for Thoracic Surgery, and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association. She was recently elected Second Vice-President of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and will assume the role of STS President in January 2028. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, and CHEST.

Where will the summit be located?

What can I expect to learn or take away?

The focus of the conference is primarily spreading awareness of lung cancer and lung cancer screening! We will learn from world-renowned faculty from Harvard Medical School, Tufts University Medical School, and Boston University Medical School who are leaders in their field. This year, we have incorporated our High School Innovation Challenge to highlight 10 finalists who have created projects that have furthered ALCSI’s mission.
Is there financial aid?

Financial aid will be provided to those who demonstrate financial need and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please fill out this application by 5/1/2026 for financial aid consideration.
Are my parents allowed to attend the conference?

Yes, parents are allowed to attend the conference. However, conference programming is created primarily for high school and undergraduate students. Parents who attend the conference will be required to register, including paying the registration fee.
Where are good places to stay?

Some of the hotels nearby include the Royal Sonesta, Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill, Hyatt Regency Boston, Hotel Indigo Boston Garden by IHG, and the Kendall Hotel at the Engine 7 Firehouse. Airbnb options are common and may be more affordable than nearby hotels. Additionally, reaching out to friends and family in the area may be another good alternative.
What does transportation look like?

Boston is a VERY walkable city and has a great public transportation system that can get you anywhere in Boston or Cambridge in ~30 minutes. There is a subway stop (known as the T) at Massachusetts General Hospital that is easily accessible.
